Avtar Saini, a respected figure in the technology industry, was struck by a speeding cab while cycling on Wednesday morning. The incident occurred on Palm Beach Road in Navi Mumbai’s Nerul area at around 5:50 AM.
The driver, identified as 23-year-old Rishikesh Khade, reportedly attempted to flee the scene after the collision. The bicycle frame became lodged under the cab, hindering his escape. According to an official at the NRI police station, Khade stated during questioning that he had been driving all night and dozed off while behind the wheel, leading him to lose control of the vehicle and strike Saini’s bicycle.
