The admission process for admission in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya for the academic session 2024-25 has started. Entrance examinations for admission to classes 6, 9 and 11 are to be held in January and February. The entrance examination for class 6th will be held on January 20. For which admit cards have been issued. Apart from this, the entrance examination for classes 9th and 11th will be held on 10th February.

If Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya is not located in a remote and dangerous area, then the student will have to pay Rs. 1746/- every month for the mess for 9 months. Every year approximately Rs 15,714/- will have to be deposited as mess fees. Apart from this, Rs 353 will also have to be paid every month for other expenses. - If Navodaya Vidyalaya is in a remote and dangerous area then the mess fee is Rs 2037/- per month. According to this, the mess fee for one year was Rs.18,333/-. For other expenses, a fee of Rs 353 will have to be paid every month. This fee has to be deposited for 9 months.
- Students studying in schools with extremely inaccessible and difficult conditions will have to pay mess fees of Rs 2138/- per month and Rs 19,242/- for nine months. Apart from this, Rs 407/- per month will have to be paid.
- Children studying in schools located in temperate climates such as Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala, Odisha, Karnataka, West Bengal, Gujarat, Daman and Diu, Maharashtra, Goa, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Andaman and Nicobar, Puducherry and Lakshadweep, per year 2640/- Uniform fee will have to be paid. Whereas for JNVs present in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi, UP, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Chandigarh, Rs 3300 will have to be paid per year. Similarly, students of JNVs located in Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, Uttarakhand, North Eastern Region and Himachal will have to pay Rs 3696/- every year
- There has been a crackdown on the admission of older children in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya. Now only children of 10-12 years of age will be able to appear in the entrance examination of class 6th. Earlier this age limit was fixed at 9 – 13 years. It has been implemented in the entrance examination for the academic session 2023-24.
- Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti has implemented it according to the new education policy. The committee was continuously receiving feedback that the cases of admission of older children were increasing.

The entrance examination will be conducted in 21 languages including Hindi and English. Answers will have to be written on the answer sheet with a blue or black ballpoint pen. The pencil is not to be used under any circumstances. 100 objective questions will be asked in the two-hour examination.
